Comparing a House With a Condo

For some people, they work hard to save up to buy things that they want, and it can range from buying an expensive car, a ticket for vacation or perhaps buying a house to settle down. When the topic of purchasing a house pops up, there will be a lot of debate about why you should buy an apartment rather than a house. You’ve probably read our last post about reasons to buy an apartment, and today we’re going to list the reasons why you should buy a house. Hopefully, by reading this article, you’ll understand which one between a house or an apartment that you should buy.

A Bigger Room

decorationIf you’re looking for a bigger room, then look no further than buying a house. Perhaps you wanted to decorate your house with many types of furniture, or maybe you want to put many paintings, then it’s a perfect reason to buy a house, as an apartment is designed to be compact, putting everything in a small unit without any extra room.

No Maintenance Fee

We’ve probably written that an apartment comes with so many facilities, starting from an elevator, parking spots, communal room, a gym, a pool and many more depending on the condo itself. But all of those amenities come with a price, which is their monthly maintenance fee, which you don’t want to pay. To make things worse, even if you don’t use their facilities, you still have to pay their monthly maintenance fee, so if you’re not planning to use any of their amenities, steer clear from buying an apartment.

Better Resale Value

Believe it or not, land prices are going up, and so a house, when compared to an apartment, will win when talking about resale value.

Growing Plants

For some people with green thumbs, they might want a space to grow their plants, be it for decorative purposes or to go straight to the kitchen. The problem with an apartment is that you can have a mini garden, but it’ll never be the same as going down on the big garden in a house and feel the dirt on your hand. If you have a green thumb, make sure that you’re okay with a small garden if you’re planning to buy an apartment.
